Climate change and the informal sector of the economy are intertwined; the millions of the informal sector players undertake their economic activities without proper consideration on their impact to the environment and eventually repercussions on climate.

With proper policies and sensitization the sector would always play a key role in climate change mitigation. Their activities especially in the rural areas would be modeled around reduced carbon emissions and also the sector should be highly involved in climate change activities including orientation towards green economy pathways.
