Informal sector enterprises in Kenya are commonly referred to as jua kali and they comprise informal traders and artisans who produce goods and services. Majority of our informal producers (jua kali artisans) operate from jua kali shades, rental spaces and from their homes all across the country.

Most of their products are highly accepted within the country and the region, however there is need to support this manufacturers on several constrains that hinder their movement to the next level.  Some of the constrains include, Ideal and safe work spaces, improvement of quality and quantity of their products, innovation, sub-contracting and market linkages, health, safety and social protections measures.
